Ben Moskowitz, Vice President of the

Innovation Lab at Consumer Reports

Ben is Vice President, of the Innovation Lab at Consumer Reports (CR). He leads a team that develops new technologies to strengthen consumer power and CR’s sustainability as a social enterprise. Previously, Ben led CR’s Digital Lab — an initiative to expand CR’s work on digital marketplace issues including data rights, cybersecurity, and tech competition. As founding Director, he oversaw the development of new capabilities in lab testing, digital organizing and product R&D. Prior to joining CR, Ben served as Director of Development for Innovation at the International Rescue Committee. In this role, he secured more than $29 million as a co-founder of the Airbel Center—a research and development unit that designs, tests, and scales life-changing solutions for refugees and people affected by conflict. He was also the lead architect of IRC and Sesame Workshop’s successful $100 million proposal to deliver early childhood learning to children affected by the war in Syria. Before that, he served as Senior Director, Development Strategy at Mozilla Foundation, where he built research programs and open source software with public and private partners.

Ginny Fahs, Director of Product R&D

at Consumer Reports Innovation Lab

Ginny is the Director of Product R&D at Consumer Reports’ Innovation Lab. Her group puts technology to work for consumers, developing prototypes and new product offerings that enhance consumer power and informed choice. In 2023 the Innovation Lab launched Permission Slip by CR, a mobile app that helps consumers take back control of their data from companies. Permission Slip received significant media attention, including in The Washington Post and on The Today Show, was named one of Fast Company’s Next Big Things In Tech, and contributed to CR winning Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies award. The app was also nominated for Webby Awards in the Technical Achievement and Public Service & Activism categories. Prior to joining CR, Ginny was a software engineer at Uber and a Technology Policy Fellow at the Aspen Institute. She was also co-founder and Executive Director of #MovingForward, a social movement to address harassment and discrimination in venture capital. Ginny holds a Bachelor of Arts in History & Literature from Harvard University and a Master’s in Business Administration from INSEAD, a global business school with campuses in Europe and Asia.
